Suicide at Bedok Reservoir Park

SUICIDE AT BEDOK RESERVOIR PARK, 31 OCT 2010

In the past few years, Singaporeans were shocked and taken aback by various news reports on suicidal happenings at Bedok Reservoir Singapore. Many questions were raised as to why was Bedok Reservoir Park chosen as the final resting place for these individuals. There were definitely many factors that led to such happenings but till now, none of those speculations could be varified due to many reasons.

But what others might not know was that, the picture seen above, was the trigger point for the spate of suicide cases in Bedok Reservoir Park. I had the first hand experience to pronounce that man dead, accompanied by my regular Paramedic, while I was still serving my National Service in SCDF. That experience became phenomenal when more news and suicide cases started to occur in Bedok Reservoir Park. I've pronounced many other patients dead on scene before and saved many lives while serving my National Service, therefore, issues of life, death, depression and suicide are indeed very close to my heart.
