Based on spatial flow A01 (Sight & Sound), A02 (Smell), A03 (Taste), A04 (Touch), A05 (Bonding Space 01 - Social Games), A06 (Bonding Space - Reflection/Discussion Space)
Only a single entry and exit point present.
Dual entry point inserted. Entry points adjusted and shifted to the top. A04 Missing
Size of A03 increased to accomodate more people. A04 included into the space. Entry/Exit points for blue line and black line made similar.
Size of A04 is decreased to allow more space for A05 and A06
Spaces are flipped based on surrounding vistas. A05 and A06 is the celebrated space, therefore a better view of the surrounding should be catered for these 2 areas.
Curved walls are inserted to make the spaces flow smoothly without the inclusion of sharp edges
Plan is refined to include additional cantilevered spaces for A03, A05 and A06.
Tried an alternative method of using straight, angular walls to create more depth and movement from space to space.
To be Continued..
More to come..

We should sniff Oxytocin
When you feel very stressed out
|
Your body releases oxytocin
|
And when the 5 senses are stimulated, more oxytocin are released
|
When more oxytocin are released, your body and mind will intend to be more social, thus forcing you to reach out to others for help and support
|
Negative stress will thus be converted to positive stress and the ability to cope and accept stress is achieved.
Walaaa !
OXYTOCIN
OXYTOCIN
And so, after weeks and weeks of searching for the right solution to convert distress (negative stress) to eustress (positive stress), I have finally found the answer.
Whenever we experience stress, be it negative or positive stress, our body will release a neurohypophysial hormone, secreted from the posterior pituitary gland in our brain called ' OXYTOCIN'. Oxytocin is traditionally known as the 'Bonding Hormone'. It is usually secreted by the brain during hugging, kissing, childbirth, breastfeeding and orgasm. Some will call it the love hormone. It will make the heart rate beat at a slower pace and prepares the body for a bond.
However, new research has surfaced that Oxytocin is indeed an anti-stress mediator or a natural anti-depressant. It promotes well-being, social interaction, growth and healing. Therefore, the main reason why oxytocin is secreted when we're feeling stressed out is because the body wants us to socialize, to bond, to speak to others in order to cure the stress. It is indeed very interesting how our body reacts to cure itself from stressors.
How to make stress your friend
Before I start spamming this blog with some of my works I did today, take a few minutes and watch this video. :)

Good, bad and ugly parasites
Parasitism is a non-mutual symbiotic relationship between species, where one species, the parasite, benefits at the expense of the other, the host.
Unlike predators, parasites do not kill their host. They are also generally much smaller than their host, and will often live in or on their host for an extended period of time. Both are special cases of consumer-resource interactions. Parasites show a high degree of specialization, and reproduce at a faster rate than their hosts. Classic examples of parasitism include interactions between vertebrate hosts and diverse animals such as tapeworms, flukes, the Plasmodium species, and fleas.
However, not all parasites are bad. There are several good parasites that has done more goodwill than harm to mankind. Some examples of good parasites are yeasts, fungis that are used in antibiotics, leeches and maggots that were grown in special laboratories and are used to keep blood flowing or clean up dead tissue after people had accidents. Therefore, it can clearly be seen that some of these parasites do exist to provide assistance to

Positive parasitism
" Parasites influence species coexistence & extirpation by altering competition, predation and herbivory, and that these effects can, in turn, influence ecosystem properties "

It was an interesting feedback session done by the Calamari Team. (meant to be Calamansi, but Calamari sounds much more delicious).

Crown Sky Garden @ Chicago Hospital
offering a place of
sanctuary atop of the new chicago lurie children’s hospital, american
studio mikyoung kim has created the interactive
‘crown sky garden’. designed for
children, families, doctors and administrators to use, the rooftop escape
features curving multi-coloured walls that frame a linear bamboo grove. a
dynamic interplay between light, and color is accentuated by the glass marble
water as it meanders through the planters, creating rippled shadow effects onto
the surrounding spaces. both light and sound elements have been installed in
the resin walls and locally reclaimed wooden play sculptures, helping to engage
the children with the garden through orchestrated notes of nature. situated
around the garden’s periphery are contemplative spaces from which to view the
city and interact with the garden on a more intimate scale.
the project was based on psychological and physiological research, which found that nature and contemplative gardens had significantly restorative properties on people. the integration of healing spaces into hospitals and institutional environments is important for both patients and their families.

Suicide at Bedok Reservoir Park
SUICIDE AT BEDOK RESERVOIR PARK, 31 OCT 2010
In the past few years, Singaporeans were shocked and taken aback by various news reports on suicidal happenings at Bedok Reservoir Singapore. Many questions were raised as to why was Bedok Reservoir Park chosen as the final resting place for these individuals. There were definitely many factors that led to such happenings but till now, none of those speculations could be varified due to many reasons.
But what others might not know was that, the picture seen above, was the trigger point for the spate of suicide cases in Bedok Reservoir Park. I had the first hand experience to pronounce that man dead, accompanied by my regular Paramedic, while I was still serving my National Service in SCDF. That experience became phenomenal when more news and suicide cases started to occur in Bedok Reservoir Park. I've pronounced many other patients dead on scene before and saved many lives while serving my National Service, therefore, issues of life, death, depression and suicide are indeed very close to my heart.
